My name’s Emily April, and I’m a Gold Coast–based photographer passionate about the art of film photography. I work almost exclusively with 35mm film because I believe in the unique qualities it brings to every image — the beautiful grain, vibrant colors, and timeless simplicity of the process. Over the years, my journey has included shooting model portfolios, brand campaigns, press shots, maternity, and small wedding elopements. I’ve also had the opportunity to work with brands such as ECHT, Vacay Swimwear, and The Ruby State, and I once owned and ran my own film-developing lab, which deepened my connection to the craft.

Collaboration is at the heart of what I do — I love bringing a client’s vision to life while capturing authentic beauty in its most natural form. I’m especially passionate about photographing summer campaigns in beautiful locations, and I’m always happy to travel to create something unforgettable. I love supporting small businesses, big businesses, fellow creatives, and fostering inclusivity in my work. You don’t need to be a model or a big brand to step in front of my camera.
